Client Service Specialist II

The following part-time opportunity is now available. 

Location: Waseca, MN 

Perform branch client service duties:  accepts retail and commercial checking and savings deposits; processes loan payments; cashes checks and savings withdrawals; assists with night depository and vault duties; promotes business for UP by maintaining good client relations; recommending products and services to benefit the customer; referring client to appropriate staff for  UPFN and UPIA services.

Accountabilities:

  • Know who your customer is, help identify their financial needs, and help satisfy them
  • Recommend United Prairie Bank products or services when it would serve a customer's financial need through cross sales.
  • Refer customers to United Prairie Insurance Agency, and United Prairie Financial Network when those services would be of benefit to the customer.
  • Process teller transactions (deposits, withdrawals, accept payments); manage cash drawer.
  • Originate and open new consumer and commercial deposit relationships including new accounts and compatible products and services.
  • Provide ongoing service to bank clients in order to prevent/resolve problems and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Assist clients setting up e-banking, e-statement and debit/cash cards.
  • Become proficient at tasks as assigned through the rotation of duties including but limited to: Assisting  clients purchasing, money orders, cashier checks, redeeming savings bonds, cashing CD's,  accepting loan payments, cash advances, wire transfers, check orders, gift cards, safe deposit entry, branch capture, and other frontline tasks as assigned..
  • Enter and maintain file maintenance through BPM for all accounts on UP computer system.
  • Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings
  • Assist with frontline tasks as delegated by management.
  • Abide by all policies, procedures and regulations of UP.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by management.

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills; general knowledge of internet usage and Microsoft Office programs.  Strong desire to learn and follow policies, procedures and sales processes.  Must be highly adaptable to change.  Ability to practice discretion and confidentiality in all situations.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education:  High school diploma or GED.
  • Retail sales experience
  • General knowledge of internet usage and Microsoft office programs.
  • Typing 50 WPM
  • Occasional day travel may be required for training/meeting purposes.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.  Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
