Human Resources Director

Location: MN - Mankato

Manages and supervises the overall Human Resources department. Develops, maintains and administers personnel programs that contribute to the effective and profitable operations of UP. Oversees UP's compensation and benefits program, its hiring process, performance management system and employee relations.

Accountabilities:

      • Manages United Prairie's Human Resources Department
  • Analyzes, evaluates and implements new and existing operating procedures, policies, systems and schedules to ensure proper internal controls in human resource related areas.
  • Advises and assists department heads, officers, and staff with job-related and personnel issues, concerns, conflict resolution or disciplinary procedures. Trains and counsels management on UP's anti-harassment policy, complaint and investigation procedures, the affirmative action plan and policy, effective performance management and disciplinary procedures.
  • Oversees UP's EEO and AAP efforts by updating state and federal written Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) on an annual basis. Regulatory reporting, certification completed as needed.
  • Responsible for short and long-range Human Resource planning for UP including preparation of annual budget for the department.
  • Directs the establishment and maintenance of employee's wages and benefit information on an annual basis. Administers job evaluation system, annual merit increases and salary range increases as set forth by Executive Management.
  • Keep apprised of HR practices by researching state and federal employment laws and pending legislation.
  • Administers all company-wide benefits programs. Acts as liaison between employees and benefit providers.
  • Administers recruitment efforts for all personnel.
  • Establishes and maintains department records.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performance.
  • Abide by all policies, procedures and regulations of UP.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by your supervisor and/or management.

    operations of UP.
  • Requires good time management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Must be able to communicate in an objective manner and be receptive, accurate and amiable

Job Qualifications:

    • Four year BS/BA degree or equivalent in HR or Business Administration preferred.
  • Five to Seven years human resources experience is required of which at least three years must be HR Generalist experience.
  • Must have working knowledge in employment laws and employee relations.
  • Occasional day travel may be required for training/meeting purposes.
