Senior Personal Banker

Location: Owatonna, MN

To develop banking relationships and serve the needs of bank clients; to protect the bank’s assets and image by making sound decisions and minimizing risk. Promotes business for United Prairie by maintaining good client relations and referring client to appropriate staff for new services. Duties include providing ongoing service to bank clients in order to prevent or resolve problems and ensure client satisfaction. Process frontline transactions. Promote and service commercial and consumer electronic services to ensure the needs of the clients are met.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Originate, renew, and maintain consumer loans and lines of credit, adhering to bank policies and procedures.
  • Manages assigned Residential In House Loan Portfolio and HELOC loans.
  • Actively solicit and develop new loan business from potential new and existing customers.
  • Manage consumer loan portfolio including client inquiries, collections, and file maintenance.
  • Maintain tickler system for all loan files including updating customer financials.
  • Order appraisal/title work if needed.
  • Update UCC and insurance information when necessary.
  • Process loan payments and advances.
  • Assist with loan-related transactions and tasks as delegated by management.
  • Recommend United Prairie Bank products or services when it would serve a customer’s financial need.
  • Manage existing relationships according to individual goals for loan growth and fee income while meeting Bank wide goals established by the Executive Management Team.
  • Originate and open new consumer and commercial deposit relationships including new accounts and compatible products and services by utilizing the UP sales process.
  • Lending authority up to $50,000. Portfolio size expectation $500,000, when approved by CCO.
  • Refer customers to United Prairie Insurance Agency and United Prairie Financial Network when those services would be of benefit to the customer.
  • Provide ongoing service to bank clients in order to prevent/resolve problems and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Process teller transactions (deposits, withdrawals, payments); manage cash drawer.

Job Specifications:

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Required to comply with the SAFE Act requirements, including successful initial and ongoing registration in the Registry to obtain and maintain your NMLS #.
  • General knowledge of internet usage and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong desire to strive for quality interactions with customers and teammates, and the ability to be assertive and diplomatic in order to minimize risk of loss to bank.
  • Must be highly effective in solving problems and making decisions with a strong desire to learn, interpret, and follow policies and procedures.
  • Organizational skills which support multi-tasking and deadlines are required.
  • Must be proficient with counting and handling cash and have the ability to practice discretion and confidentiality in all situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) or Four (4) year Degree in Finance or equivalent field of study and/or
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a community banking environment.
  • Individual must possess a high degree of ability/aptitude in financial analysis.
  • Must obtain NMLS license within 30 days of employment.
  • Occasional day travel may be required for training/meeting purposes.
